on the day of your appointment

100% Dry

On the day of your appointment please come with your hair 100% dry, in its natural state, not tied up, not stretched at all.

Curl Pattern

When you tie up, do twist outs or braid outs it stretches the natural curl patterns. We need to read your curl patterns where they naturally fall!

No hair Products

Please do not use any oils or butters on your hair and you can use light products that are not heavy in any way. Your hair does not have to be freshly washed and can be 3-5 days in since your last wash, provided that your hair is not overloaded with products.

Do not brush

Do not brush your hair at all on the day of your appointment as this alters the curl patterns and makes it difficult to read.

What hair porosity am I?

Porosity varies on a head of hair , depending on whether or not the hair is colour treated, or heat damaged, the ideal porosity should be med not too low or high, porosity can be corrected with correct product use and hydration.

Does my my hair need protein or moisture

Hair is made up of both protein and moisture, curly hair tends to be thirsty and needs more moisture.

If you are doing colour, protein is good to strengthen the hair and repair damage.

What curl pattern am I?

We do not like to classify hair into one type IE 4c 3b , there’s are are multiple curl patterns on one head of hair, it’s never just one , which is why we do a dry cut so we can read all those different textures.

Once we have determined your curl patterns, we will do a dry shaping.
Your hair is then washed, and a transformation service is done at the basin, which is used specially for hydration of your beautiful curls. Depending on your hair length and density, the transformation service takes roughly 30 minutes to complete.
Your hair is then diffused, and the shape rechecked, we do this for a second time as your curls move and shift when it is hydrated.
The whole process and treatment takes around 2 hours depending on your hair length and density.
We teach you to love and embrace your curls, and want you to look as fabulous as you do when leaving the salon, every time you style your own hair!

CURL REHAB

Before cutting, we do an intense deep cleansing of your curls. this removes build up caused by product build up and hard water, and we are left with a beautiful clean canvas to work on.

The second step is the hydration treatment, and then styling the cost of the Curl Rehab is between 600 – 800, depending on hair length and density. The results are curls that are Beautifully elongated and defined, if the hair is very damaged, we may need to do a few treatments in succession.
